James Tonic writes the kind of songs that curators keep describing with the same words: melancholic, atmospheric, warm, intimate. Raised in Montreal, he has spent seven albums refining a dream pop sound built on layered vocal harmonies, hazy synths, soft guitars, and strings, classic songwriting carried on an enveloping late night atmosphere.

His recent run of releases includes the albums Safety and Safety II and the singles Who’s Going Down, How It Goes, and now Us Two. Each one has widened his audience of playlist curators, radio programmers, and writers across North America, Europe, and Latin America, with coverage spanning independent radio, dream pop and indie playlists, and music press.

Us Two is the purest expression of his sound to date.
